Privacy Policy

Account information. Clerk provides identity and authentication details such as your name, email address, profile image, account identifier, and sign-in status.

Your SpeedGrid content. We store bookmark links, bookmark and grid names, ordering, preferences, theme profiles, uploaded logos and backgrounds, and any read-only calendar feed URLs you choose to add.

Website-inspired themes. If you paste a public website address into Theme Studio, SpeedGrid retrieves a bounded portion of that page’s public HTML and up to four public stylesheets to identify colors and contrast relationships. Only the site hostname, page title, and extracted color signals are sent to Workers AI to create an original SpeedGrid theme. We do not copy the site’s words, logo, images, or layout, and our generation record stores a one-way hash rather than the website address.

Shared profile links. When you choose Share Profile, SpeedGrid stores a public appearance-only snapshot behind a short link. It includes the profile name, colors, gradients, typography, card styling, and eligible SpeedGrid library backgrounds. It does not include bookmarks, grids, folders, layout choices, account details, or personal uploaded backgrounds. Anyone with the link can view that appearance and choose whether to apply it.

Weather location. If you turn on current-location weather, your browser asks for location permission and uses your coordinates to resolve a nearby city or region. SpeedGrid and its weather providers process those coordinates and place name to deliver the forecast. You can instead enter a location manually or turn weather off.

Google Calendar connections. If you choose Connect with Google, we store an encrypted OAuth refresh token, the selected calendar identifier, and its display name so SpeedGrid can retrieve upcoming events with read-only access. Google access tokens are requested server-side and are not exposed to the browser. Calendar event details are processed only to display your upcoming events and may be cached briefly for reliability.

Subscription information. Stripe provides customer, subscription, transaction, and billing-status information. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. For new purchases processed through Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe’s Link service acts as the merchant of record and processes applicable indirect taxes, receipts, fraud and dispute handling, and transaction support. Existing direct Stripe subscriptions remain under their original billing arrangement. If you start but do not finish a Plus checkout, Stripe records whether you consented to promotional email. When you opt in, SpeedGrid may retain the checkout identifier, email address, consent status, and reminder-delivery status long enough to send one checkout reminder and measure whether the checkout was later completed. Every reminder includes an unsubscribe option, and an unsubscribe is retained so it can be honored in the future.

Extension installation information. When SpeedGrid is opened from the Chrome or Edge extension, we create a random installation identifier and record when that installation was first and most recently seen. If you are signed in, the identifier may be associated with your SpeedGrid account. It does not contain your browsing history. The Firefox add-on instead keeps a local offline copy of your sanitized dashboard in Firefox extension storage and refreshes it only through SpeedGrid’s own domains.

Marketing measurement. On our public marketing pages, our first-party system counts page views and clicks that lead to a browser extension listing. We may also record the button placement, SpeedGrid page path, referring website hostname, and campaign source, medium, campaign, keyword, and content parameters included in the URL. When an attributable visitor later signs in, SpeedGrid may associate that limited first-touch campaign information with the account for up to 30 days. We record one activation when that account first creates a bookmark, creates a second grid, or completes an import, plus one D7-retained event if the account returns to the dashboard at least seven days later. These records do not contain bookmark names, URLs, search terms entered into SpeedGrid, calendar details, or other account content. The dashboard separately records only anonymous interactions with its optional post-value feedback prompt: viewed, dismissed, feedback opened, or review link opened. Prompt eligibility stays in your browser and records only first-observed date, distinct activity days, bookmark and grid counts, import completion, and whether the prompt was already shown or acted on; it does not send those eligibility details or bookmark content to us. If you choose “Allow analytics,” Google Analytics additionally measures public-page views, completed scrolls, outbound link clicks, and file downloads, together with standard device, browser, and approximate-location information. SpeedGrid strips unrelated URL parameters before sending page locations to Google, disables advertising signals, and does not load Google Analytics on your dashboard or measure your bookmarks, calendars, or searches. Support and diagnostic information. If you choose to send an in-app bug report or feedback, we store the message along with your account email, the current SpeedGrid page, browser user agent, screen size, active theme, and grid name. If you voluntarily answer the extension uninstall survey, we store your selected reason, optional comments or contact email, extension family and version, basic browser details, and a short-lived pseudonymous abuse-prevention identifier. No sign-in is required for that survey. Your bookmarks and browsing history are not attached to either kind of report.

Technical information. Our hosting providers may process standard request data such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, and diagnostic logs for security and reliable operation.

We use information to authenticate you, save and sync your dashboard, provide Plus features, process subscriptions, measure visits and browser extension interest, understand extension installations, secure and troubleshoot the service, respond to support requests and feedback, and comply with legal obligations.

Chrome, Edge, and Brave. The Chromium extension opens SpeedGrid as your new-tab experience and provides user-initiated shortcuts for saving the current page, a link, or a tab. Individual Quick Save actions use activeTab and contextMenus to read only the URL and title you deliberately choose to save. If you choose Save entire tab group, SpeedGrid first explains the feature and then asks for the optional tabs and tabGroups permissions. If allowed, the extension reads only the titles and addresses of the currently open tabs in that selected group, shows them for review, and sends only the tabs you confirm to your signed-in SpeedGrid account. It does not read page bodies, close or rearrange tabs, monitor browsing in the background, or use this access until you invoke the tab-group feature. You can revoke the optional permission in your browser’s extension settings. General searches are handed to the browser’s configured default provider and are not sent to SpeedGrid. The extension requests no broad all-sites access and does not maintain a separate copy of your SpeedGrid account data.

Firefox core sync. Authentication and bookmark information are required so the locally bundled new-tab page can show your signed-in SpeedGrid bookmarks. Its Firefox-specific endpoint returns and caches only bookmark fields, grid labels and memberships, and the limited appearance settings needed to render them. It does not return or cache account summaries, subscription or Stripe information, calendars, weather, unrelated settings, or unused folder and profile data. Host access and the content script remain limited to speedgrid.app and www.speedgrid.app; the content script does not run on unrelated websites. Signing out on SpeedGrid clears the current and former Firefox dashboard caches.

Firefox optional actions. Search terms, browsing activity, and website activity are optional Firefox data categories requested only when their feature is used. After you submit a built-in search, SpeedGrid explains the request before Firefox asks for searchTerms permission. If allowed, the query goes directly to your configured Firefox search provider and is not sent to SpeedGrid. Toolbar Quick Save explains that it will read and send only the address you chose before Firefox asks for optional browsingActivity and websiteActivity permission. Context-menu Quick Save shows the same explanation in a bundled local window before requesting permission. If you allow it, only that selected HTTP or HTTPS URL is sent to your SpeedGrid account so it can be saved; the page body and broader browsing history are not sent. Declining sends nothing, leaves the core dashboard working, and does not prevent you from choosing the feature later. The Firefox uninstall feedback URL contains no browser, version, or diagnostic query parameters.

We use Clerk for authentication; Stripe and Link for billing, merchant-of-record checkout, applicable indirect-tax handling, receipts, fraud and dispute handling, and transaction support; Resend for consented checkout-reminder delivery; and Cloudflare for application hosting and storage, including D1 and R2. BigDataCloud resolves current coordinates to a place name, and ShootCast supplies weather forecasts. Google operates Chrome and the Chrome Web Store, provides optional Google Analytics measurement on public pages after you consent, and, when you explicitly connect Google Calendar, provides the read-only Calendar API used to retrieve your events. Microsoft operates Edge and Microsoft Edge Add-ons. Mozilla operates Firefox and Firefox Add-ons. These companies process data under their own privacy policies and service agreements.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for third-party behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help operate SpeedGrid, when you direct us to, during a legitimate business transfer, or when required to protect rights, safety, or comply with law.

SpeedGrid’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to provide the read-only upcoming-events feature you explicitly connect.

SpeedGrid’s browser extensions follow the applicable Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons user-data policies. Extension data is used only to provide or improve SpeedGrid’s disclosed new-tab dashboard purpose and related security, support, and reliability functions.

SpeedGrid may use browser storage to remember appearance settings, temporary interface state, cached account data, first-touch campaign attribution for up to 30 days, post-value prompt eligibility and dismissal, and your analytics choice. If you allow Google Analytics, Google may use analytics cookies or similar identifiers on public marketing pages. You can change your choice at any time through “Analytics choices” in the public-site footer. Clearing browser data may remove those local copies, but does not automatically delete information saved to your SpeedGrid account.

We keep account content while your account is active and for a reasonable period needed for recovery, security, or legal obligations. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.

You can change or remove projects, links, images, calendar URLs, and themes inside SpeedGrid. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Calendar settings, which deletes the stored Google connection from SpeedGrid. You can also revoke SpeedGrid through your Google Account permissions. You can manage a paid subscription through SpeedGrid’s billing settings and the Stripe or Link subscription-management experience provided for that purchase, and you can uninstall any SpeedGrid browser extension at any time.

SpeedGrid is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to SpeedGrid.
